Eega buzz in Tamilnadu

The buzz that Rajamouli's Naan Ee (Tamil version of Eega) is creating in Chennai is unprecedented for a film directed by a Telugu director. Eega has become the talk of the town (read Tamilnadu) and everyone is eagerly waiting for its release. Three reasons can be attributed for this huge buzz. 1. Director Rajamouli is now a brand that has great equity in Tamilnadu too. 2. Unmatched 360 degrees promotions - Print, TV, Web medi and Outdoor - started by producer Prasad Potluri. 3. The trailer evoked tremendous curiosity.

Though Tamil film producers and other film lovers have known Rajamouli and his films, common audiences in Tamilnadu are yet to know his brand of film making. Samantha and Naani are not major stars. Keeping this in mind, PVP Cinema that bought the rights of Tamil version kick started the promotions from January 2011 itself.

Today, one can see huge hoardings dotting every nook and corner of Chennai city and interior Tamilnadu. This has generated great interest among audiences and within the Tamil film industry.

Distributors are now hoping that Naan Ee would open big in Tamilnadu too. The film releases simultaneously with Telugu Eega on July 6th.
